Our Story
CEO & Founder
NursePower begins with Sam, our founder. Sam’s a registered nurse and for many years she worked in hospice, caring for elderly patients. Every day, she saw homecare givers who were untrained and unqualified to be caring for her patients.
She told Caleb, her husband, what she was seeing day in and day out. Eventually, Caleb challenged her: “Why don’t you do something about it?”
On that day, Sam and Caleb created Assured Quality Homecare — or at least the idea of it.
Over the next 5 years, they built an award-winning homecare agency.
They created a brand new Personal Care Aide Certification Training Program with the help of Kelly Roy, RN, and Annette Dolan, LPN, and they put their team members through this intensive, 40-hour, skills-based training program.
But with a vision to be the Gold Standard in homecare by aligning the needs of their clients with their highly trained and compassionate caregivers, ASQ’s leadership team, Sam, Kelley, and Caleb knew they needed to add private duty nursing.
NursePower was created to “fill in the gaps” in the homecare setting for clients who require services that can only be provided by a nurse.
“When clients hire NursePower to provide 1:1 bedside nursing care,” said Kelly Roy, RN, “they can return to their roles as the devoted spouse, son, or daughter and know that their loved one is receiving the attention and support they deserve.”
